Light

Light

Inspiration:
Life is hard, but still good. Keep seeking Light!

Medium:
Pigmented ink pen and colored pencils.

Light
When the sorrows of the day have faded
and dust settles to the ground,
I raise my voice in solemn praises,
for blessings that still abound.

I will not yield the battle,
I will not lose the fight,
though Death itself chase after me,
I will follow still the Light!

The Last

The Last

Inspiration:
One of my deepest, darkest fears!

Medium:
Pigmented ink pen and colored pencils.

The Last
My darkest fears have all come true,
and my worst nightmares too!

All life is now dread,
why bother getting out of bed?

For you’re gone and will never return,
unquenched desire shall forever burn,

For you, and for your sake,
beloved, last piece of cake!

Money

Money

Inspiration:
There are some things that money can’t buy. But then there are others that it can!

Medium:
Pigmented ink pen and colored pencils.

Money
Money can’t buy happiness,
not even a little dose.

But it can buy ice cream,
and I’d say that’s pretty close.

The Other Road

The Other Road

Inspiration:
Did you ever notice that there is another road in Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken”? Happy 149th birthday Robert (a couple days early).

Medium:
Pigmented ink pen and colored pencils.

The Other Road
As I traveled through a browning wood
one morning full of Frost,
I saw the road fork where I stood
and wondered which path of two I should
take to not get lost.

The one looked rather flat and worn,
the other seemed to want some wear
and looked more than a bit forlorn,
but frankly I was rather torn
about deciding then and there.

If I took the path on the right
and left the other for another day,
just before it’d be out of sight
I know the urge I’d have to fight
would be to have gone the other way.

But if the left trail I were to take,
knowing how life twists and turns,
the right one I’d have to forsake,
intending to go another day
yet never likely to return.

Two roads diverged in the trees,
one looked the less-worn track,
the other, as nice, from what I could see,
but I- I couldn’t decide which it should be,
so I turned around and went back!

Introspector

Introspector

Inspiration:
You never know what you’ll find when you go looking deep inside.

Medium:
Pigmented ink pen and colored pencils.

Introspector
I once took myself introspecting
to search for golden thoughts,

but got so lost in the cave of my mind
that I couldn’t tell nuggets from rocks!

After hours of following my breadcrumb trail,
I finally returned to the start.

But my mind was never the same as before,
And something had changed in my heart.
